I think this is because, in Seicho-No-Ie, we worship the indwelling spiritual entity of everyone.

WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD
The Seicho-No-Ie Truth of Life philosophy teaches that man is created in the image of God and that we already possess the perfection of the divine nature. As children of God, we are heirs to all of nature. As children of God, we are heirs to all of God's power and abundance. In reality, we are without sin, disease, poverty, pain, or suffering. This is one of the key points of the teachings.

When we come to this realization, all delusions and their negative manifestations disappear, and we naturally experience perfect health, love, harmony, and abundance.
We believe that we can live God-like, deeply meaningful lives now and achieve a heavenly existence while still living in this world. We need only awaken to that which we already possess.

Words create our spiritual universe.
What we think and say has a profound effect on our lives.
We believe that prayer, words of love, and praise nourish our souls and bring out the indwelling divinity within each one of us.

The Seicho-No-Ie Truth of Life philosophy embraces all religions, races, and creeds.
It incorporates the teachings of Christianity, Buddhism, and Shintoism and emphasizes the Truth that all major religions emanate from One Universal God. We encourage members to maintain their original beliefs and affiliations and do not seek to replace any religion.
The Truth of Life philosophy is intended to enhance what one has already learned and to shed additional light on the individual's path so that he may progress more rapidly to spiritual fulfillment.

THE SOUL OF EACH PERSON IS IMMORTAL
Each of us comes to this school of life for our soul's development.
We are given opportunities to learn to overcome obstacles, to develop our character, and to increase our ability to love, thereby gaining spiritual growth. Our purpose in this life is to awaken to our true identity as a divine being and to unfold the inner perfection, love, spirituality, and God-given potential which are inherent within us.

DELIVERANCE FROM SIN CONSCIOUSNESS
The Seicho-No-Ie Truth of Life philosophy teaches that in reality there is no sin. We do not have to be redeemed because we do not carry the burden of "original sin."
A sense of guilt has concealed the divinity of mankind for a long time.
The mission of the Humanity Enlightenment Movement is to awaken us to the Truth that we are in reality children of God and, as such, perfect in nature.

THE PHYSICAL WORLD REFLECTS OUR THOUGHTS
The physical world we experience is a reflection of our mind.
Our environment appears according to our thoughts, whether dark or bright. To be healthy, for example, we must have healthy thoughts and harmonious feelings. The law, "Like attracts like," works precisely. When we change, the world around us changes.

RECONCILIATION AND PERFECT HARMONY
Since our environment is a reflection of our thoughts, our inner perfection cannot be expressed if we possess discordant feelings. We must become reconciled with everyone and everything in order to have genuine peace and happiness. We are not truly reconciled until we are grateful; therefore, we are taught to be grateful to all people and all things.
